Technical Support

This individual will use their experienced technical applications knowledge to support existing and new customers and also to provide assistance to the Sales and Technical departments. They will also project manage non-standard/special customer orders.

The individual must possess excellent communication skills, have a practical approach to problem solving and be flexible and be able to respond well to change and pressure. The individual must have industry experience and product knowledge or similar.

Reporting to the Technical Manager

This position will be responsible for working with both existing and new customers in order to ensure that those customer requirements, which fall outside the standard range, are understood, defined and subsequently met.

The individual will be office based but required to visit customers who have been pre-qualified by the Sales Managers (who are based outside the office).

This person will use their technical knowledge and experience to answer questions about the performance and specification from the customer and provide assistance to the Sales and Technical. They may also be asked to provide technical specification/guidance for Fortress products previously supplied and installed.

The individual will be responsible for presenting information and ideas to be implemented into both new and existing Fortress products, overseeing the customer’s order, where it falls outside the standard product offering, through to completion. Ensuring that it satisfies the customer’s requirements on completion.

Sales Manager (Export)

We have a new exciting opportunity for you to join us at Fortress Technology as a Sales Manager (Export).

The post holder will be required to contribute to profitable growth from overseas territories covered by Fortress Technology Europe (EMEIA). This will be achieved by assisting the existing representatives to support and develop their customer base and to identify and progress new opportunities within their markets. The postholder will need to establish productive relationships with the representatives and advance the interests of Fortress.

The role will also consist of new business development; identifying and progressing opportunities with new and developing overseas accounts/territories. This will most likely be focused on Russia, India, Poland and the Middle East.

The postholder will increase sales of Checkweigher and X-Ray products through the existing distributor network where appropriate but also to the wider market.

They will be required to carry out training on all Fortress products, review and offer technical solutions to projects, carry out joint customer visits and provide exhibition support for existing representatives and new prospects.

We are looking for someone to join the team who has an engineering background and technical sales capability, ideally in the field of Product Inspection and preferably Checkweighing would be beneficial to support the activity areas outlined above. You will need experience in new business development, working with and setting up distributors and OEMs in overseas territories and also knowledge of Export.

This is a hybrid working position, with one day a week in the office and there will be travel requirements, this will likely be 1-2 overseas trips per month maximum, These could vary from 1-2 days and over a week.
